Gregory Hills Community Centre unveiled

Gregory Hills is pleased to announce that our new Community Centre is now open for use. Coming quickly on the heels of the recent opening of Gregory Hills Town Centre, the Gregory Hills Community Centre provides Gregory Hills residents with a central venue for special occasions, meetings, playgroups, community groups including dance, fitness, art classes and more.

We know how important it is for Gregory Hills locals to have great facilities where they can come together. The new Community Centre, along with a bounty of other great amenities such as sports facilities (Cunningham Park) and parks and green spaces is what makes Gregory Hills such as a great place to live.

Multiple event spaces for hire

Located on the corner of Kavanagh Street and Minnamurra Circuit in Gregory Hills, the new community facility comprises a large hall with a mirrored wall and a smaller hall suitable for birthdays, engagements, weddings and christenings.

The larger hall, known as the Donovan Room, seats up to 90 people. It includes an outdoor breakout space, industrial grade kitchen and ample storage space. It also features a projector and sound system available for use by anyone booking the room.

The smaller hall, called the Molloy Room, is a generous sized meeting room that can seat up to 40 people. It is fully equipped with office furniture and even has its own storage room and kitchenette.

The rooms are available for hire from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 3pm. On Saturday the Donovan Room can be utilised from 8am to midday, while the Molloy Room can be used from 8am to 10:30pm. On Sunday bookings can be made for both rooms from 8am to midday.

Gregory Hills Community Centre already a hit

The new Gregory Hills Community Centrehas been a popular addition to our community. We’ve already received bookings from several groups, which indicates that Gregory Hills Community Centrewill become a popular central meeting place for local events.

We expect that local community groups will use both the Donovan Room and the Molloy Room for regular and one-off meetings and events. We also anticipate that local residents will utilise the rooms for parties and family events. Imagine being able to hold a party in your local area without having to host it in your own home.

How to book Gregory Hills Community Centre

Because it’s a community facility built for the community, the cost to hire a function space at Gregory Hills Community Centre is very reasonable. Local community groups can even access a discounted rate. At this stage the rates are the same as the Harrington Park Community Centre, but this may change when Camden Council finalises its 2019/2020 fees and charges.

The new centre is managed by Camden Council, making it easy for locals to make enquiries and bookings. For more information and to book the Gregory Hills Community Centre for your next event, visit the Camden Council website.
