A Gastronomical Journey of Gregory Hills

Good coffee, great food, and friendly company.

These are the things that most people want in their lifestyle, and are all factors that play a role when it comes to purchasing land or property in Sydney. Gregory Hills has kept all this in mind when creating a community with lifestyle at its centre.

The recently opened Gregory Hills Hotel has already set an impressive benchmark for new establishments in the South West Sydney growth corridor, having sold in excess of 9,000 meals in its opening weeks. The spacious grounds of the new pub have proven to be a hit with locals and visitors with the purpose-built facility offering a range of lounge and dining areas, an open-plan beer garden, a dedicated sports and leisure section, and a kid-friendly play area that's popular with parents wanting to enjoy great food while the little ones are kept busy.

Good coffee & great food in Gregory Hills

Good coffee, great food, and friendly company are all factors that play a role when it comes to purchasing land in Sydney.

But, what has proven to be truly popular are the food and drink options at the Hotel.

Moorish lagers and ales from Byron Bay brewing company Stone & Wood sit beside classic draught selections seen throughout Australian pubs. A wine list that any half-serious somm would appreciate has glass and bottle options, all of which have been selected to complement the kitchen's extensive menu.

For the brave, a Bavarian portion of pork knuckle is hard to pass with its crunchy crackle skin and mashed potato bed demanding the appetite of a serious eater. Pub-feed classics like schnitzel, nachos, and show-stopping burgers are all available but some might not make it past the wood-fired pizza.

The atmosphere on a Friday night mixes between families enjoying the end of their week and young workers celebrating the start of the weekend's fun.

But the Gregory Hills gastronomic journey doesn't end there. Boutique butchery and BBQ-cafe Orangeville Meat Co have brought a piece of the inner west to this South West land development. Built on the collaborative efforts of husband and wife team Shaun and Melissa, the Orangeville Meat Co ethos is quality produce by local and ethical farms. The resulting butchery, deli, and cafe is a truly unique representation of the best that the Macarthur region has to offer.

“The reason we picked the Gregory Hills area to open our establishment was because of the potential the area has for future growth and the opportunity we had to create something unique, that this area has been screaming for,”

said Melissa to the Gregory Hills team after opening.

outdoor foodies at Gregory Hills

Both indoor and outdoor foodies are catered for at Gregory Hills.

“Since opening, the community response has been really positive, I mean, so many of the customers that we had come in during the opening week are still regular customers. You can't really ask for a greater compliment than that. I think people are seeing that they don't need to travel to the city to get the best.”

Visiting the Orangeville Meat Co premise is not only a field day of culinary delights, but also a shining example of the community of creators in Gregory Hills looking to serve up something special.

A review of the Orangeville Meat Co. by the Australian Good Food and Travel Guide talks up its meaty favourites.

“One-stop shop, Orangeville Meat Co is a carnivore's delight, incorporating a gourmet butcher, delicatessen and most recently a café on Rodeo Road. Showcasing tender cuts of meat as well as regionally farmed produce in regions surrounding Gregory Hills, Orangeville Meat Co café provides a clean space to dine, with stainless steel bench tops hosting glass cabinets full of strung cured meats, mouth-watering cheeses and antipasto items under bright lights.”

Blue Agave Mexican Cantina is another one of the newest gastronomical additions to Gregory Hills.

In Macarthur Magazine were amongst the first to visit the new Gregory Hills eating experience.

“We ordered the Chef's Tasting Plate - Fire Jalapeño Poppers, Elote, Shredded Chicken Taquitos, Shredded Beef Chimchanga. Every last morsel was beautiful and then we were tempted by a Mexican traditional cake for dessert. Order Patel De Tres Leches it is sensational. The restaurant is regularly booked out - you better book. YUM!”

These are just three of the options when it comes to eating, drinking, and playing at Gregory Hills with more and more opening throughout the year. Why not make your way to the Gregory Hills Sales Office to find out more; the cafe next door does a great coffee!
