A look back at 2017

A look back at 2017

What a year it has been! As 2017 comes to a close, we reflect on all the exciting developments that were celebrated throughout the past twelve months and look forward to what 2018 has in store.

New Roads

As the Macarthur region grows, public infrastructure and resources grow with it. In October we proudly celebrated the opening of Gregory Hills Drive, which connected the Gregory Hills and Camden communities to Campbelltown. The project was funded and developed by Dart West Developments in partnership with Transport for NSW. The connecting road was the realisation of a ten-year promise to the community. All four lanes are set to open early in 2018.

More Lifestyle

The best modern communities have a range of facilities nearby to deliver a well-rounded and holistic lifestyle. Gregory Hills will soon be receiving its very own Town Centre, with Camden Council recently approving a Development Application. Upon its completion, residents will have access to a large supermarket, speciality stores, cafes, community services and other desirable facilities. It will be complete with a network of footpaths and an outdoor entertainment hub to provide a wealth of lifestyle options for everyone. Construction is scheduled to get underway in 2018.

The highly-anticipated Sporties facility was approved by Camden Council in June this year and is set to include a bistro, cafe, bar areas, lounge areas and children’s play area. The $12.6million project will be nestled on the corner of Rodeo Drive and Gregory Hills Drive, and will begin to take shape in 2018.

Better Education

Education is the cornerstone of an entire community. Construction of the new St Gregory’s College Junior School has been underway throughout 2017 and is due for completion before the year is out. Come January 2018, 194 students will be heading off to greet the new school year at their state of the art facility.

That's Not All

Other facilities that are set to open in 2018 include:Bunnings Warehouse. Find the tool belt, get the spare coins ready and be prepared to head down to Bunnings on a Saturday for all the DIY and sizzling sausages you can handle.

SOMA Wellness hub. A precinct for medical specialists and general practitioners, set to be completed in April 2018.
